For those with six fingers on their right hand…

six-fingers-york I just couldn’t resist quoting a comment from Grumps, not always known for his sense of humour, on the saxontheweb forum, about this York tenor sax – "For those with six fingers on their right hand…"

Looks to be standard vintage sax with forked Eb and the G# trill, but there’s this intriguing bottom pearl with what looks to be a long curving arm on it…  There sometimes is a smaller (sixth) pearl on this age sax, but this one looks different.

Perhaps it’s connected to the C or Eb key?

  2. Lewis Pelham says:

Or perhaps it was marketed at some of the more rural areas of Louisiana where the odd spot of absent minded incest is endemic, and where people really do have six fingers.

Same sort of tendancy in the darker parts of Portland, and of course my home county of Cornwall 😦

  4. Lewis Pelham says:

Around here, in North Devon, it is possible to buy gloves to fit.

Astute buyers, liking the idea of a spare finger – but for the same price as normal gloves…
